Luau Party Cocktails

Hey guys and welcome to Island Style Buzz! Today’s topic is: How to host a Luau party! We will be writing a series of blog posts based on Hawaiian; clothing, activities and the stunning landscape. Our very first post is based on drinks!

When hosting a party, not only do you have to organise the venue, invite list and activities, you also have to create a drinks menu – which is often the most stressful aspect of the whole event. If you need some tropical inspiration for your next soiree, then look no further. Here at Island Style Buzz, we have conjured up a list of alcoholic, and non-alcoholic, drinks to keep you’re guests impressed, and ensure everyone has a good time!

Alcoholic drinks: *All individual serivings*

Lets start with a cool, refreshing classic: The Pina Colada!

Combine 5 tablespoons of rum with 8 tablespoons of fresh pineapple juice and 2 tablespoons of coconut cream. Shake the ingredients together with some crushed ice, and garnish with an orange and cherry!

Now for something a little different:

Blue Hawaiian

In a glass shaker filled with crushed ice, pour in 1.5 tablespoons of light rum, 1.5 tablespoons of vodka, 1 tablespoon of Blue Curacao liqueur, 6 tablespoons of fresh pineapple juice and 2 tablespoons of sweet and sour mix. Then shake well until all of the ingredients are combined, pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge and brightly coloured umbrella!

Something more Hawaiian:

Kahala Sunset

Once again, in a glass shaker filled with ice, combine/shake together, 4 tablespoons of coconut rum, 4 tablespoons of papaya juice, 4 tablespoons of pineapple juice, 2 tablespoons of limejuice, a splash of grenadine and a splash of club soda. Once mixed, strain into a tall glass, fill it with ice and garnish with a cherry and orange slice!

Something a little less fruity:

Vanilla Nut

Into a shaker glass, pour 5 tablespoons of Licor 43, and a splash of Amaretto, shake well and pour into a chilled and sugared cocktail glass.

Now for the non-alchoholic drinks! (These make more than one drink!)
